A Message From The Executive Director
How are we doing that? Our first offerings are a series of courses on e-lawyering, or law practice management in the age of web casts, pod casts, asynchronous access to content, and a lot of emerging technologies that are changing our world. As our world changes, lawyers will change with it, and the Institute will help provide the tools needed by lawyers to practice in virtual space. Online dispute resolution training will provide the framework within which lawyers can begin to view alternative dispute resolution as a key part of their practice, and their approach to resolution of conflicts, in an online environment. Just think how much more efficient, and how much less costly in terms of dollars, time, and emotion online dispute resolution can be! Clients need not be disadvantaged because of fewer resources or the burden of missing work, arranging for travel, childcare and other expenses associated with dispute resolution in physical space. Nor will lawyers face those same time and cost pressures when ODR is effective. Please take a look at our offerings. Some are free, to introduce you to the offerings and give you a taste of the full course curricula. We invite you to register at the Institute and enjoy our current and future offerings. Sincerely, Susan B. Waters, EDM, CAE Executive Director |
